Hi all,
I only use lightroom (the computer based one), I do not use the cloud base business.

If i look my program list.
Can i delete Adobe lightroom
And keep Adobe Lightroom classic.

if so they could call the first one Adobe lightroom CC to be less confusing

Then why is there:
Adobe photoshop 2018 CC
Adobe photoshop 2019 CC
Is the oldest obsolete?

I don't use Lightroom but I would think that the older one may be obsolete in terms of the date but still working perfectly (I assume it is).
Unless you need the room on your HDD or SSD I would keep them both in case one goes wrong.

There is a setting in the creative cloud app that keeps the last version installed. If you navigate to the icon for that and then choose apps, select lightroom and you can remove the old version.

Ok thanks,

I've decided to delete both photoshop 2018, I actually never use photoshop but I pay for it in the "plan" so I do keep a version just in case.
I've also deleted lightroom and only kept lightroom classic.

I don't really need the room but I may as well save 3.5 GB of hard drive and keep clutter low.

Um...

I'm not sure it is confusing.

They are officially called Adobe Photoshop Lightroom when they were stand-alone programs on a CD-ROM in a box that you buy from a brick and mortar shop.

The ones you pay a monthly or yearly subscribe/plan, download and install on your computer, is officially called Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Creative Cloud in full.

They're often shorten to Lightroom (if from a CD-ROM) or Lightroom CC (if downloaded).

Assuming if the first one you mention "Adobe Lightroom" was a stand-alone you installed from a CD-ROM, it is just "Adobe Lightroom" and it would be more confusing if you called it "Adobe Lightroom CC" considering that CC stands for Creative Cloud.

But if both of them were downloaded and installed, then technically both of them are Lightroom CC.

The only reason the second one is called Lightroom Classic CC is because this is a new name for the download and install versions, as Adobe have decided to develop a new way, one that you do not download and install, just access it online, which had now became Lightroom CC.

So to recap:
Lightroom = Buy CD-ROM from shop and install on your computer.
Lightroom CC = Download and install, pay by subscription (Usually versions before 2017). But it have now became...
Lightroom Classic CC = New name for the above.
Lightroom CC = Access online and pay by subscription, usually versions released after 2017.

I was refering to the name of the program when I look in "add or remove programs" in windows 10.

Also I pay by subscription I can see
Adobe lightroom classic = New name for the above
Adobe lightroom = Access online and pay by subscription, usually versions released after 2017

No mention of CC in the name.
I have suppressed Adobe Lightroom and only kept Lightroom Classic without any problem.

Who would believe Adobe could have created such a confusing mess with their naming "strategy"?

I am sure this change made sense to some high end marketing department exec. Maybe they even planned to get rd of Lightroom proper until they realised the new one was pants at that point (and still is).
