I'm an enthusiastic amateur as far as using Adobe CC goes and wonder if anyone can do something with this image at all.

For the first time ever I saw a woodpecker, and got several photos, but this was the only one in flight and as so and so's law would have it another bird flew in front out of focus.

Is there anyway of losing the other bird and infilling on the woodpecker as the wings look good. I've cropped it down as the original image was quite large for here I think. But cannot remotely work out if anything can be salvaged

It's an image that I can relate to in that it has an atmosphere of coming directly from the life. As such, one approach would be to accept & enjoy it as it is.

You mention CC, and to do anything Photoshop would be the tool, but I think that it would involve a painstaking effort for an unsatisfactory result.

I know what you mean by this and I will keep a copy as is, but thought it would be good knowledge to see if anything could be done, so I would know for the future. Incredible have waited years to get a photo of one of these, so thats one ticked off the list. Next target is to get a kingfisher.

Would look awful cloning that out tbh.
Woodpeckers arent rare, so just keep trying and get a better photo.

Fair enough comment, just hope I dont have to wait another 40 years before I see the next one in flight

Come live here, cant move for the damn things.

Usually got a green woodpecker in the back garden too.. and 2 mistle thurshes have started frequenting. Also red kites, buzzards, sparrow hawks, nuthatches, jays, yellow wagtails, grey wagtails, dippers, treecreepers..etc etc. Living in a woodland has its perks I guess!
There is a kingfisher about too, but I’ve yet to get a photo of it.
