The size depends on the filter thread of your lenses. You need different filters for each size of thread or step up rings and buy filters for the largest thread size.

58mm - if it is the kit lens - usually the size is stamped inside the lens cap

I have Hoya 58mm UV filters here........''link''

you dont 'actually' need a UV on a digital camera but I [and others] use them as a ''Protector'' in front of the expensive lens

make sure you get a good quality - as a cheap one can degrade the image

the Hoya HMC are multi-coated to cut down flare

Polariser...you need a Circular Polarising Filter (CPL) for use with a digital camera. Good ones are Hoya HD or B+W......

Don't fall into trap of getting cheap filters....as with most things you get what you pay for.

Amazon is a good place to get filters from at reasonable prices

Have a look at the marumi range for the cpl.

I purchased the screw in variety but after watching the Karl Taylor videos I'm tempted to go for the slot in the holder type (polariser that is).

ND I went for Hi Tech, okay but can cause a bit of cast on occasion.
