Can anyone recommend a decent tripod

And

I'm wanting to get into taking landscapes, black and white, and urban landscape photos, so what equipment would be good to add? Any filters etc? and again, any suggestions would be welcome.

I'll be using a Nikon D80 for the time being, then in the future a D5000 of my own.

Redsnapper tripods are very well thought of & good vfm. However, I bought a Giottos MTL which has the ability to extend the centre column & crank it out to the side, this is very useful when you want to get low to the ground, or for macro etc.

As far as filters go, the one you will get the best use of is a Polariser, it will give a great look to skies & allows you to lose or enhance reflections.
 
Thanks all, appreciate the suggestions. Can anyone tell me about spirit levels for tripods? I read something earlier that says you can add a spirit level to a tripod, but I've looked on a couple of sites and only found small spirit levels that I guess you attach to the camera? Are these any good?

And ND grad filters, anyone recommend any of these at a reasonable price?

I don't have too much money at the moment!!

I tried a couple of these, I used to use them with my D100 and D200 occasionally. They just slot into your flash hotshoe. I thought they were generally OK, but then once I got my D300s (which has this feature built into the camera - the D5000 may too, I don't know), I realised just how off their levels were.

Your best bet if you're on a tripod is to just keep an eye through the viewfinder and adjust til it looks right, take a shot and see, adjust if necessary, and take another.
 
I've owned a Manfrotto (055) for nearly 20 years, replaced the rubber feet a few times, but apart from that its perfect. Still have the original head, but prefer the 322 pistol grip for easy of use.
 
The Manfrotto 190XPROB looks to be good value with a £20 cashback from Manfrotto untill the end of the month I think. I've seen a bunch of shops selling it at £99ish so £79 with cashback!
