I think this is the right forum. So my parents have said for my 21st/Christmas present they want to buy me a camera and a mac.
does anyone know where i get them? i want to get a mac, not sure which one (any suggestions) also, i'm after a 40 or 50d, so if anyone can tell me any sites/stores which are offering discounts atm, please let me know!

This site tends to list a price breakdown of what the 'big' shops are offering camera gear at and so would give you an idea at least of where to go and the sorts of prices being asked.

There is also a member here on this forum called kerso who seems to be able to offer very good deals. You could also try the for sale forum and maybe get a bargain..

I think that's a good question.

You should also ask yourself what you'll be using the Mac for.
Just processing your photos and doing some office work/Internet use?
Are you going to do some gaming as well?
Something else we should know before trying to advise?

As for the camera, the 40D should be getting cheaper now, but bear in mind you'll need some extra stuff to be able to work well with it, such as 1-3 lenses, a bag, cleaning accessories (manual air blower), an external flash maybe, if you don't have a tripod or a monopod, they should be considered as well.
