Can anyone help me with an error on adobe bridge?

When I'm using bridge, if I try to launch camera raw from bridge I get an error

It says the parent application is missing

If tried a fix I saw online by moving a amtlib.dll but it hasn't worked. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.

Anyone able to help?
 
Yes - well I bought it from somebody but its a genuine copy

I have a Canon 1000d & use a new version of Photoshop, my camera is quite old and this version of photoshop does not have the RAW plug inn for the 1000d, I went on the canon web site, downloads, 1000d RAW DOWNLOAD & downloaded into my documents on t my laptop, then I opened my photoshop program and opened the file with RAW and replaced it with my downloaded version, all works ok now, you may need to google the complete idiots guide to to ensure this is what you need to do, cheers

I think you misunderstood - I can open an image in ACR that's not a problem however I can't use bridge to do so. Using bridge means I can load more than one shot into camera raw at once and process the whole lot at the same time meaning I have a good workflow but for some reason it's not working

It's something to do with adobe bridge
 
Which version of photoshop is it and what OS are you on? What happens if you try to launch from mini bridge?
 
I seem to remember issues with CS4 similar to this, there was a clean script to use before reinstalling. Have you tried resetting preferences?
 
Yep I've tried the preferences. And mini bridge doesn't let you choose more than one file to open into raw.

It's not a dodgy copy I can assure you - I will try the clean install.

ive uninstalled CS6 and re-installed CS5.1 and all works fine so seems to be an issue with CS6 :(
 
I have re-installed CS6 as a trial and it works perfectly but if i validate it it starts to fail again - anyone :(
 
all fixed - only took 48 hours in the end!
 
i reinstalled as a full version and then disabled my internet connection so it couldnt verify the install - then it gave me a sort of trial basis thing and everything was working properly then i rang adobe explained what was going on and the verified it offline by getting me to tell the software i had connection problems, then by giving me a response code it was activated and bobs your tea pot its sorted :)

Brilliant news, I was going to suggest ringing them Did you use the clean install that I linked you to
 
Thanks Dave - and yes I ran it before reinstalling the lat time so could have made all the difference :)
