Just seen the tail end of Local Hero and have a feeling that the beach (well, the cottage at the North end of it) was also used in a wildlife documentary some years ago. From my (rather hazy) memory, it involved a cameraman living in the cottage and using it as a base for some spectacular shots.

Anyone help?
