I have owned an Ameristep Doghouse for around 12 months. a couple of points worth considering about these hides.
I would say if your planning on shooting for any length of time you'll need a chair or stool as the zip windows are fairly high up the sides.
When folded these are pretty dam big and fairly heavy, if like me when you go out, you'll go for half or a whole day, you'll be carrying a camera bag, tripod, stool or chair lunch/drinks you'll want to be within a reasonably short distance from the car.
on the upside.... once put up, there is plenty of room for two people with cameras on tripods, chairs and bags, or if your on your own it allows great manoeuvrability inside without rubbing against the sides (risking being seen or heard)
I never have used the poles included as once pegged down the springy inserts hold it up nicely, I have also never used the netted/plastic window panels included as I found you could hardly see through them, I bought a scrim net from a local army surplus shop, which I found to be much better. and clip it up on the window.
Overall I would say its a good hide but if I was buying again I would look very closely at wildlife watching supplies hides and consider forking out the extra cash.
