Hello all, newbie to the forum here.
Firstly, my apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forum, I scrolled through but couldn't find anywhere my question seemed relevant.
I was recently doing a bit of searching for the 'cheapest' place to pick up a Z8 after deciding to upgrade from my Z6.
I stumbled upon Camix, after doing further research I see they are a grey importer?
I have no problem with this, other than the fact buying directly from the importers is around £450 cheaper, for the Z8 in particular anyway.
I'd really like the Z8 to arrive promptly, I have a bike photoshoot to do on the 31st, which yes I can use my Z6 for, but can't wait to play with a shiny new Z8, but I'm in a dilemma.
Are their any grey importers that can get items to you by a guaranteed method?
The only other one I am aware of is E-Finity, which quote 7-14 business days as the fastest method.
I just don't think I am prepared to pay that extra from a UK stockist of a grey imported item, since Nikons own warranty can't be claimed and Camix offers 1 year over E-Finity offering 3 years.
So, who else is around doing this folks?
Yes I'm aware I could just buy from a UK shop of UK stock and eliminate all those factors, BUT at £3,299 compared to £2,269 is a very hard price difference to swallow.

If you MUST have the camera for that date, you'll have to pick it up in person from a retailer - no online supplier can absolutely guarantee delivery by a given date.

Thanks for the replies.
Collection isn't going to be possible due to work commitments unfortunately, since I live at the back of beyond, nowhere within a reasonable travelling distance stocks the Z8.
I have E-Mailed Camera World, they can confirm no grey imports but still £300 saving over other retailers which is always nice towards some faster cards.
Trouble is the website is displaying it won't be dispatched for up to 5 working days so awaiting a response to if they've got one on the shelf or not.

Though not a cost effective solution, as you wish to own a Z8......

You could hire one from

Though they show limited availability for the 31st May.....but if Camera World cannot deliver rapidly enough

Panamoz is where I buy from, purchased a Nikon 400mm f/4.5 on Wednesday 14th May 25 arrived Monday 19th May 25:banana:

My experience of dealers saying it's in stock means very little. These days it often means it's in stock somewhere, not actually the dealer your talking too.
Currys are famous for this. It's in stock and will be delivered tuesday. Then you get a message saying you'll be contacted as soon as it comes in with a delivery date.
If you phone a shop tell them your coming on such and such day to collect it, thats when they start stalling.

Lots of recommendations for Panamoz then, that being said, still a grey import which does worry me just in terms of warranty, for such a big purchase (for me anyway)
Panamoz seems like perhaps the place to go then, since the price is so low I might have to treat myself to some shiny new glass to go along with the Z8! :D
I really do appreciate everyones replies!

Panamoz give a 3 year warranty in the UK, much better than your local shops, I know it sounds bad but that is the way it is, we get screwed in the UK

We certainly do, for years and years my main hobby was RC vehicles, the amount we pay over the USA is extortionate, it was eye watering sometimes paying double the price in the UK.
Good ol' UK taxes!!
