Cameras that are a pleasure to use

My very first camera was the Sony a200 paired with a 90mm macro lens, took some great pics with them both. My Fuji XT-1 was the camera I always wanted to take out, loved the Oly Pen-F special edition, this was a close second for enjoyment. I’m now back within the Sony Ecco System, have enjoyed the foray into full-frame but recently picked up the a6700 paired with the 23mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.4 for a lighter more portable set-up that I am hoping will rekindle my passion again.

My pentax 645N is a pleasure to use.
The fact it is essentially settings-less (the only "setting" it has is spot/centre-weighted/average, but that is a physical switch), so no time wasted fiddling with settings, and the loud clack of the mirror and then the whirr of the motor winder when you fire it. I've got two lenses for it only one of which is autofocus.

I've had dozens of cameras over the last fifty years or so, and I've enjoyed using all of them. A few have had things I didn't like about them and I've ended up selling them because of it - I've only got about twenty of them now, with six or seven complete 'systems'. I really should unload some (if not all) of the unused ones.

Almost every camera has given me pleasure, but the most satisfying (even now) is the Hasselblad 500CM. I'd like to sell it as it really doesn't get the use it deserves, but I just can't bear to part with it.

I loved my AE1p. That was a very long time ago! Lol...in recent years i really liked the 50D i had.

Not had a DSLR since. Approx 10 years now...

This is a very interesting thread - I've just purchased a Sony A7iii along with a 28-75 tamron lens.

I've really never enjoyed the camera or using one - I've had a fair few. My only reason for taking photographs is the photo itself. As said by a few, I treat the camera as a tool. Hopefully, it doesn't get in the way too much (ie it's capabilities) and just like any other tool, I try to work around any weaknesses - which these days are becoming far fewer with the technological advancements of mirrorless.
