I would just like to voice the great service I received from camera world Chelmsford recently. This is how the story goes. I was looking around for a replacement to my Nikon d80 and amongst my shortlist was a d700 fx body. I managed to find one at a good price which as you do I haggled. Well I managed to get a small amount off which I was happy with so the deal was done and it was sent to me, great. When I received it I checked it over and all seemed ok, but when it came time to place a freshly charged battery in I noticed the battery door was loose and when I looked closer could see that one of the lugs that pushes into the bottom of the camera to provide a hinge had broken off. I thought "oh what have I bought" I felt like if this has happened then there may be more problems lurking beneath. So onto the phone I went, miffed that this was listed as "great" condition I spoke to a man there and explained my situation, to which he said he was sorry and it should never have happened and they'll do there best to sort it out for me. He told me that he got onto Nikon UK and had ordered me a new replacement. So things were looking good. I got a phone call on the Saturday saying that the part was in and that they would send it out 1st class and I should receive it Monday. True to his word it arrived but when I went to open the envelope I could see someone had clearly tampered with the envelope and a small cut or incision had been made to the side exactly down the fold so it was hard to see on first glance. This had me so annoyed, that someone (Royal Mail staff possibly) had nicked a part of my mail. So I got onto camera world again explained what had happened and they could not have been more apologetic. What was excellent though is that although not their fault they went out of there way to make sure I was a happy customer, by getting a second new battery door and sending this one by courier no less for a next day delivery.
