Breezesys do some.

Does EOS utility software not do this?

I use Remote Pro, but with my 40D. Have you checked for updates? Mine needed updating to get it to work with my 40D.

I use it with my 5D and although you don't get a live view it is useful for checking lighting in a studio before going for it!

hi steep , the dslr remote pro is a breeze pro . it seems there is a proble with it and the 5d

oops! sorry :) I thought it was the Canon software you had.

Don't understand why you don't get live view with the 5D, you do with the 40D.

That's because the 40D has live view and the 5D doesn't, If the camera does not have it as a function then the software ain't gonna make it happen. :D

Which is a pity really!:shake:

cheers all

looks like it is a case of tough luck :bang:. breeze shows the 5d as compatible , so you would expect it to work . i can take 10 photos and 10 will work then i could take another 10 and 6 will work , . i love being able to send the photo straight to the laptop so a client can see it on the desktop as it happens . but when it freezes it dosn`t look very professional .
and as said a real shame :shake:

Yeah, it does. :)

Seems quite simple to use aswell, and also downloads photos quick IMO, even when my PC isn't the fastest on the planet.

I take it there will be wireless ways to fire to PC/laptop?

Are these dear/has anyone had experiance with them/what kinda range do they have?

There is a Canon file transmitter that will fire your images straight to your PC wirelessly. It's £600. :cuckoo:

Think I'll be sticking to the CF cards for a bit.

Christ on a bike, £600?

Fair enough, I wasen't expecting it to be cheap, but jesus.

Think i'll join you and stick with the CF cards.

Rog, I use the EOS utility app in conjunction with Lightroom for tethered shooting mate, takes about 5 seconds for the image to display but has never missed a shot yet ...............

I am planning to do the tethered shooting, going to buy an EEE PC and carry it around with me as you can get a 5hour battery time out of it and with a complete cut down version of windows xp it should run pretty well... that'll give me a nice 7" screen to view the pictures on whilst on the move. (not good for seeing colours but will help with composition)

I tried to get the EOS utility but it asked me to put in my Canon disc when i tried to run the setup file .. but ive misplaced it.. is that normal?

The industry standerd for pro teathered shooting IMHO is Capture One C1 Pro. I use this on PC and Mac, and it never misses a beat.

If you don't want to spend that much money, then as macker eos util into a lightroom hot folder should work ok, but takes some setting up.

I use C1 pro as you can apply colour and tone curves as you shoot, so you have a better of what you going to get. Applying croping as you shoot is cool too.
