Hi Guys,

Looks like a great forum! I just have a quick question about camera servicing... It isn't something I've had done before and I have two D700's, one with 50,000 and the other with 30,000 actuations.

Do you guys get your bodies serviced at regular intervals? Do you reccomend it? If so, how long does it take, what does it cost and what is done.

Would really appreciate your feedback.

If it aint broke, dont fix it I say.

Unless your entire income is dependent on it and you think something might be wrong then I wouldn't bother.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking... It's funny that there is nothing official from Nikon on this (unless I'm missing something).

The bodies are in great shape and still doing a great job. Maybe not as tack sharp as they (along with the lenses) where from day 1 though.

Might just take them up to Calumet for a thorough sensor clean etc.

I think its worth doing occasionally, just for a clean up, adjust anything that might of slipped out of calibration and some general TLC. I had a D700 done at fixation around Ocotber, it was gone a week (but cause I couldn't get in to pick it up sooner)

How much did that set you back? :)
