I have had a Nokia N70 for the past 20 years, or so it feels like. I fancy a change now to something a little difference.

I just want to know what you have and what would you recommend :) I dont want anything too flashy, doesnt need to have satnav etc.

I'm looking for something small(ish), makes and receives calls, sends text messages and takes good pictures! That it all, something basic really. I have been looking at the K800i's and they seem to be what i'm looking for. Just want to know what else it out there :D

Thanking you!

I had a k800i got a k850i now which is a little bulkier but makes up for it with excellent cam functions and large clear screen , I would also recommend the w810i if you use mp3 alot and the w810i is a nice little mobile and good value now.

I didnt know there was a K850i untill this morning! How long as it been out? Are there any bugs etc with it?

The k850i is a great phone. the touch screen is a pain but you do get used to it. The cam is very very good, as a 5mp cybershot should be. I think its the best cam phone at the mo. Overall a nice looking piece of kit which does everything a top range mobile should. Go for it! lol:)

Hmmm not too keen on the idea of a touch screen. Too many choices! Need to cancel my old contract first though

I have the Nokia N95 as well and I think for a camera phone, a lot of thought has gone into it especially for the in camera adjustments you can make e.g.
EV +/- 2 stops
Contrast
Colour i.e. can shoot in black and white
White Balance
ISO
Timer
Sharpness
Scene Modes
You don't get that much adjustment on some DSLR's and so far I have had excellent results. As long as you are not using it for sports due to shutter lag (as per most digital compacts), then it's great.

I've got a K800i at the moment and the camera on it is pretty good (it was taking pictures on this that got me back into photography) I'm looking at a Nokia N82 as an upgrade to it, 5MP and a proper flash, all the reviews I've seen have been pretty good.

Just seen the post above, it is similar to the N95 camera - have a read here.

I've got a K800i and to be honest the camera slid thingy keeps opening in my pocket and sometimes locks up the phone if someone phones or just drains the battery. Good phone though other than that!

Nice link that, very interesting to see how the dif cams coped with light and dark :)

The decent camera has convinced me to go for the N82 over the iPhone.

Errr why not buy a camera that is good as a camera and a phone thats good as a phone? Am I missing something here? :-)

Limited pockets ;)

Or a phone that is good as a camera and a camera that is as good as a phone....?

:agree:

I've got this phone, & the camera is superb!!!!!
Its more of a camera with a phone built in!!

I have an LG Viewty and its amazing. it has a great camera with all functions you would find on a compact. It will also play Divx videos too. The front looks like a phone and you turn it over and its a camera. if you put it face down on something you would think its a camera not a phone,

Yeah....I got fed up with technophobic phone racing too, when I saw the state of an N95, I thought stuff this, I dont want that orrible bulgomatic robocop phone I'm gonna buy something that looks fabbo but is infact....crap.
I like Nokias, so in the end I got this
I like its design, it looks cool.....if slightly....camp:suspect:

they're free on nearly everything, and I have not seen another in 4 months....so they must be crap:thumbs:

edit, you can choose the keypad colours, it doesn't have to be err..pink:lol:
There isn't a phone on earth that takes good pictures btw

Had a Nokia N73 and hated it for the 18 months I had it, complete waste of space, camera was good though and got some good naughty stuff with the built in flash :) binned it off now and reverted back to a phone that is pretty much just that, a phone that makes calls and sends texts - Nokia 6500c on Orange, so far so good, I really like it !

I took these with the k800

The flash, though obviously a huge step up from other camera phones, I find still extremely limiting. There seems to be some sync problems that plagues the flash.

For landscape shots, the camera is quite nice. Compose it properly, take a dozen, pick the best, post process the hell out of it, and you might have something decent.

If you already have the camera, which I did, the phone camera is still very useful at times. I have used it to capture scenes that I want to return in better light that I have come across on walks in not so far away places as well as other images that are very usable.

It's obviously nowhere as good as a modern day digital compact or a digital SLR, but with 'man pockets' carrying only one thing when out and about dictates the phone stays with me all the time.

sony ericson K series, personly i have have a walkman one the phones are really good but a friend has a k series and it takes really good pics, including a few published in his local paper.
