Hi all,
I have a good year-round travel insurance which covers me for pretty much everything, but only covers for a max. of £250 for 'valuables'.
Having recently spent £2,500 on a 5dmkii & 24-70 f2.8L, I clearly need better cover.
Is there a 'go-to' photography insurer, or will I have to trawl through the normal insurance companies looking to see which offers the best coverage?

Thanks in advance

Home insurance ? I would also be interested if theirs something better out there

Yeah I put in on my home insurance as additional cover away from home.

Read the small print though, as their might be some clause added in.

When I bought my 7D I called Directline to check if my gear was covered. As standard you are covered for £2500 personal possessions outside of the home and for up to 60 day abroad.

I've upped the cover to £5K but there's a £2.5K single item limit.

This will also cover you in the event your gear is stolen from your car provided the car was locked and the equipment is out of sight BUT it is for non-pro use only.

Another Aaduki user here - keeps the home policy clear and clean and is specifically tailored to my kit; I also chose public liability, although I'm not a pro someone could still trip over my tripod!

didn't think to check my home insurance! Am with the Co-Op, seems I need to choose between specified personal possessions & non-specified. Either way, I need to call them to clarify what I have currently!!

Thanks all
