Hi all try to make this post readable, i have been toying with the idea of a camra grip, for obvious reasons, going to be doing a lot more picture taking, are the ones off e-bay from china/hongkong any good or am i better waiting for a looked after Canon Battery Grip BG E3 to come up, also what are the after market batteries like are they worth the investment or are canon batteries better, i need 4 batteries in all, i am just very indecisive

Hope's this makes sence

Regards Mark.

OEM grips tend to be better made, but batterywise I've had no complaints with my HK aftermarket ones, the one in G9 seems every bit as good as the Canon one

Hi flash thanks for that i have my good eye on one :) at the moment.

Regards Mark.

I would say go with the Canon grip... I was toying with the idea of getting non branded grip but I went against the idea, I would rather pay that little extra for proper grip than damage the camera.

Batteries as above in previous post.

Shutterman

Only buy a branded canon grip, i have the BG-E3 on my 400D. the cheaper ones feel just that... you really do get what you pay for. the BG-E3 will totally change the feel of your camera for the better and its worth the money for the verticle shutter release alone

7dayshop

BP-511 compatible two for a tenner

If mercmanuk is looking at the BG-E3 then he has either a 350D or a 400D. in either case these would be the wrong batteries :nono:

I have the oem grip on my D300 and had the oem one on my D80, but as there is no oem for the D70/s I have aftermarket ones on them. The quality isn't anywhere as good, but then they were £17 each and included two batteries with each one, so to nitpick would be churlish

I have a non branded BG-E3 with non Canon batteries. Not a single problem and much much cheaper:thumbs::thumbs:

IMHO, an official Canon one. I use Hahnel batteries at half the price of Canon units and they last a little longer between charges..

I got my MB-200 plus 2 Nikon batteries all in the same deal, on eBay, from Hong Kong, for a very good price - just about got the batteries for free :D
