Hi, I am planning to shoot a dance music video and have been looking for a camera for both photography and video but mainly video. I have come across the Canon 250D and the Canon M50 Mark ii but I am still not sure which is better because they seem very similar and I also don't know if there are better cameras out there for around the same price or slightly higher. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me pick the right camera. Thank you

If you can find one at your local CEX, the Canon Power Shot SX 20's a nice little camera, I've shot loads of great pics and videos with it, some of the videos are on my YouTube page (which unfortunately I had to set to private due to intense trolling from complete muppets from another forum recently)

I’d only go mirrorless for video. Sony a6000 series or even a used a7s2.
The camera the guy above recommended doesn’t exist that I can see. I assume he means the sx20 and thats ancient and only shoots in 720p.

More important than the camera will be the lens and lighting, so budget for that too.

Did you try with your smartphone? If not I’d experiment with that as it will help you decide what you need.

I've recorded footage with my phone before at comic cons and stuff, the quality's decent, but the files are massive, especially for longer footage.

I have looked at the Sony a6000 series but the only thing that worries me is the size of the camera, they are pretty small and I have large hands hahahaha. I have also heard that lenses and lighting do the trick, I am definitely keeping that in mind :)

I have and unfortunately, it didn't look the best :( I have the Huawei P30 Lite and the camera isn't the best on that

Oh yeah I know the struggle, I once had to shoot a documentary for a school project and let's just say I had to transfer many files onto hard drives and what not :( This isn't really a problem but it does take some time and is a bit frustrating.

Okie I'll look at these as well but I'm pretty sure they will probably be out of my budget hahahaha but I wouldn't mind saving up more if they are really good cameras. :)
