Just noticed a Callus on my finger, it is on my middle finger  . It is definitely not a Wart.

The Callus rests on the rubber/plastic finger grip, on all my cameras, even on the DSLR. I do tend to grip the cameras a little too hard. It does not hurt, but I am aware of it. I will have to start putting a plaster on when I use my cameras.

Sorry for the dirty fingernail, been in the garden.

Why bother with a plaster? A callous does no harm and in fact protects from further harm. I have had callouses from causes ranging from horse riding to photography to clarinet playing over the years, and have just ignored them. They appear when needed then disappear when redundant.

I probably will not bother with a plaster may file it off, if it gets bigger. A Callus is caused by excessive pressure or friction. Looks like I am using the camera too much. :)

All you'll achieve by filing is a sore finger.
Leave it alone.

I have one on the inside of my right thumb from the rubber grip on the back of a DSLR, it helps now as the first few weddings I shot my thumb was sore from the rubbing, it's all good now  Do still get black rubbery marks there though after a full day

Glad it is just not me then. :)

Not so worried about no finger rest/ grip, on a high-end compact now. Might be better without one.
