Although camera fairs will mostly be dealing with older film camera, they do cover everything photography-related, so of general interest I'd guess. I've only ever attended a few, Photographica in London a couple of times, and the Frome Camera fair in Somerset. Frome was really good, but I haven't been for over 20 years. I've been googling and noted that there are now regular ones at Wolverhampton racecourse and a place in Potters Bar, both of which are a bit more accessible for me nowadays. I was wondering if there are any recommendations, either in respect of these or any others, for picking up interesting equipment?

I have family just outside Tenbury Wells, near Ludlow, so I must visit when I'm next over there

I used to go to the Wolverhampton one regularly and these days it has right mix of stuff both film and digital, its good fun to rummage around.

However, they can be a bit hit and miss, especially the last one of the year.

Also make sure you know your prices and check the gear carefully. Most of the store holders are OK and you can have a decent chat with them.

Never been to the fair (although I do have family in the town) but it seems that Frome is still running.

(Found by accident after seeing [in the welcome area] that the AP forum is no longer.)

It was something I saw about Frome that made me think of this - I really liked going there when I lived near Salisbury, but its a 3 hour drive now so not really wort it. I might try Wolverhampton though. I was undecided about one I saw mentioned in Potters Bar, which isn't too far away.

Who knows, if you attend the one at Potters Bar you might even bump into me if I remember to do the same :p

It's best described as a jumble sale but there's occasionally some good gems to uncover.
