Camera clubs and a possible sticky somewhere

Good morning,

Just a thought i was having the other day. Its coming upto the start of the new season at my local camera club and we are having a little advertising campaign to attract some new faces and just generally promote that we actually exist. I have managed to get permission from the moderators on this site to setup this thread for my local Camera Club
I wonder if it maybe a good idea to have a sticky somewhere, perhaps in the meeting place section of the forum, with a list of camera clubs. Anyone who goes to a camera club could then possibly post some information about their respective club which could then help people who either didnt know a local club to them existed or needed a final push to get them to go along and see what its all about.

What does everyone think?
 
Last time I counted, there were 973 camera clubs in the UK (or at least, 973 affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain). It would be a long list ... and it would really just duplicate the information available on the PAGB web site.

But I think your idea to promote your local camera club is a good one.

Hi Stewart,

The idea wasnt really to list every camera club known to man, but, was more of a members view of the clubs they attend. What the members actually think about them, what they get upto, what the people are like kind of thing. Something a but more personal and in depth than just a listing on the PAGB site if that makes sense.
