Camera Club Talks...

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but... I am the chairman for a local camera club (Moore just outside Warrington) and i am looking for some recommendations for people to come along and give talks. The kind of talks we like are from people that have travelled and basically showing some great images from the places they have been with a bit of a story behind them; or an insight into a specific niche of photography. We had one last year on Time-lapse which was excellent!

Let me know if you have any recommendations, we are based in Warrington Cheshire.

Joan Blease is really excellent - and she's from Warrington! :)
 
I suspect your club will be affiliated to a regional photographic organisation, and they will be affiliated to the PAGB.

Although I'm no longer involved in club photography, I remember the Chiltern Association of Camera Clubs yellow booklet listing speakers, contact details, their expertise and cost. You should have access to a similar booklet.

We are totally independent so no affiliations I am afraid

I've not been a member of a club for about 4 years now, but I do recall Adrian Lines doing a very good talk. I've seen some of the other talks from some of the other speakers, some were downright painful TBH. Our programme secretary had an obsession with travel talks and I don't recall many good ones, but that may just be my own expectations not being met.
