Hi all,

I recently purchased a new lens, and am badly in need of a bag for it. As I can afford only 1 bag, ideally it would be within carry-on size restrictions, and be able to take a Nikon 600mm f4 AFS-II and 200-400mm f4 lens, as well as a D300s and extras. I was looking at the ThinkTank Airport Accelerator bag, but I'm not sure if both the 600 and 200-400 will fit in it. I would be using it for carrying gear in the field, as well as transporting it through airports etc. Is there a perfect solution? :)

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Oscar

How about the lowepro flipside 500aw?? It is a BIG bag. I bought it for my 50-500mm and my 50-500 rolls around inside.

It is up for sale in the classifieds :)

Are you looking for a bag just to carry the lenses, and it is a bag for transport or actually going out in the field?

Looking at the lowepro site, a flipside 500 will not take the 600mm on it's own, so very unlikely it will take a 600mm and the 200-400mm.

Guragear kiboko 30l... I've just received mine and absolutely love it, it's a butterfly design, so the top folds upwards & inwards. I have a 600mm one side, 300 2.8 17-40 and two bodies in the other. It is carry on approved and it only weighs 4lbs

Discontinued - links to Bataflae 32L.
Designed in the USA, made in Vietnam - yet still manages to cost $449? F.....me! Taking the proverbial, without a shadow of a doubt.

Of course, I'm sure many are made in the Far East, but it's not something you brag about unless it brings a cost advantage for the consumer.
Someone there has priced up the lenses it'll take, and divided by 2 to get the what they think the buyer will pay.

I certainly wouldn't buy without having seen/touched/tried one on, etc, and I can't see many retailers carrying that sort of stock unless it's SOR or a hefty margin in it.
And I thought $250-300 was pricey for Clik/Kata ones.

Love my Billingham (have several). Keeps the water out, looks great and lasts a lifetime. Over the shoulder may not suit though, as they can get heavy. I did get an old Billingham rucksack, which is brilliant! Difficult to find, but they are just the ticket.
