Hi,
I need to replace my Lowepro camera bag as I've outgrown it.
I'm looking for something that will hold the following:

2 x Nikon D700
135mm Nikkor Prime
105mm VR Nikkor Lens
24-70mm Sigma Lens
SB900
SB600
Cables, memory cards etc.
Laptop

Looking to spend around £100.
Any suggestions?

thanks
Martin

Hi

What Camera bag did you have and what (if any) style are you looking at -> backpack / shoulder bag / sling etc ??

Hi,
It's a Lowepro shoulder bag. I can squeeze two cameras in but it's a real squeeze.
I'm thinking more of a ruck sack or something on wheels but have to think about portability during a wedding, at the moment it's left in the car boot and I take what I need.

rucksacks are, in my experience, rubbish for weddings. I use a Domke. They come in various sizes but they're absoltulely great.

Billingham (English) or Domke (American). Both classic shoulder bags, quite expensive new but they literally last for decades! You can pick them up used within your budget without a problem.

Jessops do hard Cases for about £70. If not a Lowepro Computrekker Plus AW would house what you specified. Can be had for a bit over the £100 if you know where to look. Not sure if the Standard Computrekker AW would hold all that, but i have one and its great, so the plus one will probably be just as good.

Look at the Domke bags. The original F2 bag may be just a bit tight, but is a great bag; the F1X will hold everything and then some. I've worn out only 2 of them in over 20 years of daily use!

My choice would be either the LowePro Flipside 300 or 400... I have the 400 and there's enough room in there for two gripped bodies (7D and 40D in my case) as well as a selection of lenses, a flash and all of my filters. The Flipside 400 can be found for less than £100 if you shop around. :)

I've got the Lowepro Stealth Reporter 650 AW and it holds:
  • Gripped D80
  • Gripped D300s w/ 24-70mm f/2.8 attached
  • 70-200mm f/2.8
  • SB900
  • SB600
  • Accesories (Batteries, Filters, Cables, Card readers etc)
  • Macbook Pro

With all this it is a pretty heavy bag but it holds it all with ease :)

My first post, but I've got a brand spanking Crumpler December Quarter which would hold all that. I bought it when I thought I'd want to keep all my stuff together like that for weddings but it really didn't suit my style. I literally used it for one wedding, let me know if you're interested.

Yeah, I thought of this or the classified 250 as I can get the laptop in these

Billingham for me.

Wonderful bags

Sorry Martin, just spotted your £100 budget limit.

Then again, your outfit must have cost £6k ;)

Thats why I'm down to my £100 :) just need something to keep it all safe.

I'm down to a possible two now:

Lowepro Vertex 200AW or Lowepro Stealth D650.

Neither are ideal for humping around at a wedding so may need to get a sling bag just to hold the two bodies and lenses whilst actually shooting.

A back pack doesn't look very good but a shoulder bag gives me real pains.
