Yes
I want a new small camera bag. Just to carry around my camera (canon EOS400D) an extra lens and a flash gun. I currently have one I got in the sale from Jessops for about £7. It's fine and serves it's purpose well, but it looks like a blue and black cooler lunchbox! I'm a 22 year old female, and although I don't have any interest in mainstream fashion I am rather self concious of this ugly thing slung over my body. Surely there must be other options, different styles etc. Things that look like regular bags for example. I'm handy with a sewing machine but don't think my skills are quite up to creating a camera bag that suits my aesthetic needs (or my cameras needs)

Anyone seen anything? I can't be the only one who craves something nicer.

I see you are in Manchester. You could try looking at the crumpler range. You can find them in Calumet. Not exactly the height of fashion but about as good as it gets.

Is that the one near the Apollo? I've never been there so I'll have to go have a wander down there.

I'll have a nosey at the crumpler range on the net now.

Shootsac...???

That's definitely for girls, I just couldn't buy something called a Shootsac without wincing.
Pretty boy is bad enough..

InaGlo - Those bags are gorgeous. If I was rich I'd buy one in a heartbeat!

Jobe - Shootsac looks quite nice, but very pricey for what it is.

Joxby & AliB - Those crumpler ones look quite nice, would go well with jeans and a t-shirt :) think the xxl maxi would be bigger than I would need though. I'm going to go down to Calumet soon to have a look at them.

It's good to see that there are nice things about and I'm not searching for something that doesn't exist. I may actually try and design something and get creative with the sewing machine as well. I think a Crumpler one will definately be on the christmas list and I just need to find a 'dressy' one at a price that won't break the bank.

You are better off going and checking them out because I've no clue how XXL equates to something so small, unless it it means XXLittle, I mean an XXL T shirt is a flippin tent.....not in Crumpler bag world though.
I think you'll find XXL maxi is you're size, for a body, lens and flash..

I'll have a nosey at them in the next week. What colour is the bag you are selling, and for how much?

Just found out that the Calumet shop in Manchester sells the Jill-e bags (the ones that InaGlo geave the link for)...I've fallen in love with one that is red leather and $169.99 (so about £85 - £100 in the shops here I guess) I'm telling myself I cant afford it but my Mum and Sister are telling me I should get it! It is gorgeous and I'm soooooo tempted.

Check Louis Vuitton, they make some really fancy bags and have a good range of camera bags that is just up there with the latest fashion fancy people. Mind you, these bags aren't exactly cheap ... expect to pay no less than £500, but they do withstand all the ellements that Earth can throw at them.

There is a bag on there that would hold a compact camera that is £995 !!!!!!!

More than a little out of my price range

Yeah, their prices are a tad-bit too spaced out; but they do have a few really good looking camera bags that I've seen "tourists" carry around. I guess not what you're really looking for

A very good alternative would be to find a bag, any bag, that you do like, that has sufficient room to carry your outfit.

You could then buy individual dividers/cells from the likes of Billingham or Lowepro to divide it as you wish.

Even better, buy a used or ex demo Lowepro Stealth reporter 100/200/300 depending on size, (Ffordes have several of these at half price or less at the moment). These are, essentially, a self contained 'inner padded bucket' complete with dividers, which you could remove, and fit straight into a similar sized bag.

Hey presto custom fashion camera bag!!

When I was thinking of making a bag I was also think of altering an existing bag. This would be the same but without the effort :) I hadn't realised that you could buy dividers etc. I'll take a look at that as an option.
