I'm looking for a backpack that is able to hold a laptop (MacBook), some camera bits (300d+grip, and a couple of lenses), as well as general day to day bits. It's basically for taking on holiday with me :) I currently have a LowePro MiniTrekker AW which is great, but it can't hold the laptop or all the other bits, so i guess i'm after an all round bag that's not huge, and not stupidly expensive! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

Perhaps take a look at the Lowepro computrekker (should be at most jacobs/jessops) as well as the crumpler.

I need to hurry up and decide now i've booked my flights :) Any more suggestions? Crumpler bags in Aus/Canada/US look much better than our one's! :(

The CompuTrekker isn't suitable. I'll only be taking a small amount of camera gear, and my laptop, but need room for other bits for days out.

Well if you don't like the Crumplers (and I swear by my Shrinkle most of the time :D), then look at the Kata range. I just bought an R103 which is more obviously a camera pack and has space for a laptop like my Shrinkle. The main reason I bought it was because it has somewhere to hang a tripod. I appear to have more bags than my girlfriend nowadays. :p

I just got myself a new Tamrac Adventure 9. Easily holds my D50 with lens attached, 3 other lenses, batteries and other accessories. There's a big laptop pouch on the back of the pack and it's very, very comfortable and is also within the allowed sizes for hand luggage. Went from a Lowepro Orion Trekker to this and the Tamrac is far superior.

Warehouse Express have some good offers on Tamrac backpacks at the moment. I'm tempted by the Adventure 9 myself. Wouldn't use it that much, so I'm still considering if it'll be worthwhile. The good thing is there is plenty of room for non photographic stuff, so it'll function as a good day bag. I tend to take my camera most places so I might just get one anyway...

Definitely take a look at the Tamrac Adventure 9, ideal day bag and camera/laptop bag
