Ive just got a canon 350d and am after two things for it.
I already have a decent camelback bag which I use but as its not designed for a camera I just want a little bag I can keep the camera safe in when its in the camelbag. It doesnt need to look nice, just be cheap and fit a dslr and a few spares in.
Also I have a lens cover but as its not attached to the camera Im scared im gonna loose it, when I used my mates old one he had a like piece of string which attached the cover to the camera. Any idea where I can get one of them?
Cheers and sorry for the stupid questions!

I just stick the lens cap in my left hand pocket with my iphone (my right pocket usually has other stuff like money and keys in it!).

The "cap on a string" thing sort of reminds me of cheap camcorders.:D

Any supermarket will sell you some sort of cotton / thin string, just double it up if it's particularly thin. I've taken it off every lens cap i've bought, can't think of anything worse than the cap swinging around while i try to take a photo! Lens caps are why pockets were invented :)

Just put the lens cap in the bag you took the camera out of? Or just stick it in your pocket as mentioned. Never found it a problem to be honest.

Actually, might just be fussy me, but I agree with 1st post.

I use the top of a picture hanging hook (cut the rest off) and superglue to the cap. I then get the thinnest piece of black nylon twine (hobbycraft etc) that I can find and loop through the hook and strap attachment on the body.

Completely unobtrusive and incredibly useful. Have done ever since I set out on a long walk in the highlands at the start of a 5 day break and must have lost the lens cap on the first picture I took. Returned off the hills 10 hours later in fading light and amazingly saw it in a clump of long grass.

Didn't trust to luck after that.
