Camcorders??? Puzzled

Looking at buying a little camcorder jus for pottering about the house with and for when out and about with the family.

Seen loads but cant make my mind up, was thinking about this and wondered if anyone in the know has any opinions?

I only really want to spend around that money, cant really afford anything more after christmas etc.

Bit like DSLR's, in that price bracket they will all be about the same quality with a few different bells and whistles.
I've got a Sony that seems to work quite well in low light.

There's a Panasonic one for 149 that looks reasonable too lol

It's pretty decent, video quality is good. I did have to buy a seperate hdmi to mini hdmi cable but it doesn't say it comes with one so that not an issue. The battery life isn't good though so I'll be getting a higher capacity battery and standalone charger

A stand alone charger is a good thing, I got one of these and this also revitalized an old battery that wouldn't charge in the camera,Don't know if it's the same battery as yours though.
