Hey,

Has anyone used the Calumet Pro Series 4 Channel Wireless Trigger?

Any good?

That's the PW clone isn't it? And compatible with, same as the Interfit jobbie, all made by Phottix.

Yes, very good but really only if you need PW compatability. If not Phottix Strato II offers more IMHO - v well designed and cool TTL pass-through feature.

what hoppy said about the big pocketwizard one.

The other trigger that they do... looks like pretty much any other chinese trigger, just search around on lightingrumours / ebay.

Yes, very good

That's what they were using (the PW clones) at the Calumet photoshoot a few of us from TP attended - they misfired constantly throughout the day, I don't think I've used anything so unreliable since the days of the Cactus V2.....

What, ths Phottix

Is there any reason why the Strato II are difficult to source in the UK? They are seemingly only available to import, then I just saw on their site....

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Not for sale in the UK.

I have 3 of the Phottix Atlas Transceivers and have never had even one misfire.

These

They are better built than pocket wizards, have a hot shoe and work just beautifully with my H1, film cameras and X10.

Tbh I was surprised, I've had lots of Phottix gear and it's always been pretty good, but the triggers (and bear in mind this is Calument trying to sell stuff by demoing it) acted up from the get go and even replacing the batteries with fresh sets made no difference, they still randomly misfired throughout the entire day.

Very surprised, mine are fantastic... Better than pws....

I guess they need to update that then.

Phottix Statos II (and Odin) are available from UK distributors Intro2020 - click on link bottom of middle column here http://www.intro2020.co.uk/pages/products.htm I have sets of both I got from them.

....and there was me, 5 minutes earlier, recommending you buy a set whilst there was the 20% discount available on the day :bang::nuts:

Haha, sounds like that day really couldn't have gone any worse for calumet if they'd tried....

Mine are fantastic... :s

Expensive enough that I'd advise people who don't use them in anger away from them though.

I have the Calumet 4 channel set and have used the trigger with up to 3 receivers at once and no problems at all. great product IMHO

Probably something unexpected stamping on their frequency.
