Hey,
Has anyone used the Calumet Pro Series 4 Channel Wireless Trigger?
Any good?
Its not the Pocket Wizard clone, its this one: http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/eng/product/calumet_pro_series_4_channel_wireless_trigger_kit_canon_fit/cf0090#tabs
That's the Strato I.
Strato II is a bit better in a few ways, available from Intro2020 now. Good review here http://flashraw.com/review-phottix-strato-ii-multi-wireless-flash-trigger. Pick of the manual triggers, plus TTL pass-throughBut more money - I've got a couple.
Yes, very good
That's what they were using (the PW clones) at the Calumet photoshoot a few of us from TP attended - they misfired constantly throughout the day, I don't think I've used anything so unreliable since the days of the Cactus V2.....
JSER said:What, ths Phottix
I have 3 of the Phottix Atlas Transceivers and have never had even one misfire.
Is there any reason why the Strato II are difficult to source in the UK? They are seemingly only available to import, then I just saw on their site....
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Not for sale in the UK.
Tbh I was surprised, I've had lots of Phottix gear and it's always been pretty good, but the triggers (and bear in mind this is Calument trying to sell stuff by demoing it) acted up from the get go and even replacing the batteries with fresh sets made no difference, they still randomly misfired throughout the entire day.
Totally agree with G here...
DISASTER...they failed constantly...one of the many things that did that day...LOL...!!!
STEVIER

I guess they need to update that then.
Phottix Statos II (and Odin) are available from UK distributors Intro2020 - click on link bottom of middle column here http://www.intro2020.co.uk/pages/products.htm I have sets of both I got from them.
