Hmm doesn't look good
I have 2 sets of the CT301's he mentioned (except without the PC socket) and have still not witnessed a single misfire. For £25 a set (1 transmitter, 2 recievers) i'm very pleased with them :)

I saw this vid and was reading about it on the flickr strobist group, the general opinion was that at such close range any device is bound to act lik that, including pocket wizards. Thats just what they were saying, I don't have a clue personally!

I ordered some of these a few days ago just to mess about with until my custom/home made ones are ready :woot:

You don't get misfires like that with Pocket Wizards, these news Cactus ones sound as if they have exactly the same issues the previous ones had....

Same only story I suspect, cheap mass produced items. I've heard people are sticking with V2's because of the problems with the V4's, personally I haven't used either so bought the V4's just because they were the latest ones and I can use them with my gun & studio flash heads. £50 for a trigger & 2 receivers ain't bad for a play, then when mine are made I will use them as a backup set.

You might be lucky - the V2ss () drove me to distraction and only ever seemed to work in the house and never when there was anyone else about :suspect:

I bought 2 non-Cactus transmitters with 4 D-8P triggers and while they are in no way perfect I found that close proximity of the receivers had a marked bad affect. One receiver in particular is fine, just so long as it's kept a respectable distance from its brethren.

Your mileage may vary . . .

Yes, that was the video, along with the early review of the V4 that mentioned the hotshoe insulator shape and lack of Nikon friendly locking pin hole, that tipped me towards the CTR-301. s said above (and in other threads) my CTR-301 have yet to give a single misfire

My CTR's have been great from day one. Never had a single misfire, they will work upto around 75feet, which is plenty enough for me, and they wrok with EVERY single falsh i have, i know people are having issues again with the new cactus's.
