I have 2 working PT-04 triggers. That I was told were V2s models. I have bought a third receiver from here but I cannot trigger it using my original transmitter. It seems impossible to tell if the original ones are V2 or V2s. Also it could be the receiver at fault. The differences between them seem to be

Original ones have a white switch
New one has black switch and the letters tm above PT-04.

What to do? Is there anyway to fire the receiver manually to test its working? I get no light on any channel.

First of all, have you checked they're all on the same channel? Sounds obvious, but it's an easy thing to overlook. Secondly, do your original PT-04s have the pc connector on the side?

Thanks for your help, indeed they are on the same channel, and have tried different cobinations. The original ones and the new ones have PC connectors on the side, and look identical on the inside. Is there anyway to trigger it manually to check it's working and not just a duff unit?

How daft having 2 models with no way of telling which is which

Have you tried swapping the batteries around? Sometimes they arrive with dead ones fitted..

A V2 works with high trigger voltages, a V2s only works with trigger voltages up to 12v.

I have both and the transmitter of the V2 won't fire the V2s receiver and vice-versa. It could just be mine as the V2 isn't a Cactus and is labelled PT-04.

Yeah mine just say pt-04 too. My line of thinking is the original ones were infact V2 and not V2s as the seller had said, so I now have a V2s that wont work with my V2, so I have purchased another but this time a V2. FIngers crossed. No doubt this will be appearing in the for sale section shortly if the new one works ok. anyone need a new V2s?

Story continued:

I ordered another PT-04 V2 trigger of ebay, which came and worked, but then I realised it didn't have a PC connector on the side. So I sent it back as it was not use to me.

I then thought I would just order a single V2 receiver from GdgetInfinity, which arrived today but them same issue as the original v2s receiver I bought, it won't trigger using my transmitter!!!! Really starting to get annoyed with this now! I just want an additional receiver for my set.

So now I'm in a situation where I'm not sure if the GI cactus receivers are compatible with the others from HK on ebay? It could be a faulty receiver :bang:, but there is no way to know for sure!

It's now the 3rd one I've ordered, only one of those was compatible and it didn't have the damn PC connection!!

Any advice folks

I'm 90% sure that I actually have a V2 set but with no obvious differences I'm left scratching my head. How stupid was it of the HK sellers to not make any obvious changes to the product, especially when they are not compatible with each other :bonk:

Don't have quite that much money. Thanks for that though Flash!

The difference with the GI ones is the PCB says something different to the ebay HK ones. They say yh21cn.com and so I guess something is different, do I purchase a V2s from GI and try that maybe......

Nothing should be this damn hard!!!!

Silly thing this, but worth checking. Alot of people fell into the trap that the battery was covered in a thin plastic which was obviously preventing it from working.

Worth a try.
