Cable Release

Hi all,
Struggling to find a cable release which has the backing of some good, solid reviews. Anyone recommend one? I have seen some decent Kood ones, maybe those?

I am using one donated to me very kindly by RaglanSurf but since I am taking the long exposures quite seriously, I thought I should upgrade

Assuming you meana mechanical cable release, have a look at the SK 60 one here :

Really good quality have used them on everything from my Ebony through to various Nikons, very smooth in operation.

Ceejay, thanks - they are London based as well so I can check it out in person. Yup, should have clarified, mechanical cable release, none of this shutter release involving batteries!

In what way do you wish to upgrade, a cable release for film is just that, if the locking screw works what else do you need, let me know I have several in my stock boxes.

Need it longer (I'm not sure how long my cable is, don't have it to hand at the moment) and my current one doesn't have a locking screw at all. If you have one spare that fit the criteria I'd really appreciate it!

How long do you need it? There are loads for not much on eBay but for the cable type ones 1 meter is about the max length and only £6 after that you'd need a air pressure one with a bulb (which is where the bulb mode setting on cameras comes from, the air bulb used for remote release) which can go up to 6M (20ft) long for £10

I've had a few cable releases fall to bits on me, and they only do that when you're using them..:annoyed:

They must have been cheapies, I've had a genuine 60's Bronica one for 4 years, its tough as old boots..

Had a look a I have a heavy duty double sleeved one made in Japan so good quality, it is 12 inches long when deployed and snaps well when the locking screw is released, it's yours for P&P if you want.
