I'm sure I read somewhere (may have imagined the whole thing though) that I shouldn't develop C41 and B&W in the same tank? Something to do with chemicals absorbing into plastic tank walls?

Ordered some Rollei chems for a little cross process fun!

As in, use the same developing tank for some C-41 developing, and later on some B&W developing?

C-41 doesn't use the nicest chemicals, so it wouldn't hurt to keep the processes separate if at all possible. I've never heard of that before, but people use the same Jobo tanks for B&W and C-41 developing a lot of the time so maybe it's not such an issue?

As long as you give it a wash between uses it'll be fine, i did C-41 and B&W in the same tank and had no adverse effects.

Same tank it is then! I have got two tanks but one's a bit knackered!

one of the main things is to make sure you thoroughly wash out the "stab" from the dev tank after C41 use... unlike with B&W, the film just comes out of the stab without getting a "long rinse" afterwards, and there's a possibility that you could get a residue of stab. in the tank - I had one case of "foaming" of the B&W chemicals which I put down to not cleaning the tank out properly after doing some C41 the day before...
