Has anyone on here bought anything off Facebook main page adverts , not marketplace .but the proper adverts that you can pay by card or PayPal with .. always steered clear of them but there’s something. I want that I can’t get elsewhere ??

I did once - a supposedly sheepskin jacket - that was just a pile of synthetic crap that went straight in the bin - the selling company strangely didn't respond to emails.
Generally I'd steer clear unless you can verify them by other searches online ie a proper website with contact info that looks correct, which does the e-commerce itself.

i bought some oakleys, thinking they were from the sunglass hut( near identicle website and name), it was only when i went throgh the payment process i recieved an email confirmation that was partly in chinese that alarm bells rang, unable to cancel the order and when the glasses eventually arrived they were clearly fake, managed to get a partial refund off them , i was fuming with myself for being so gullable, never again will i buy from a facebook or other social media advert

i ordered a car lift from a facebook main advert which was far too cheap to be true and the advert didn't really look right either but they accepted PayPal so i took a punt
the worst case is i would be missing a couple of hundred quid for a week or 2 and if it ended up a no show i could claim my money back through PayPal which i ended up doing
not too much of a gamble using PayPal but i wouldn't entertained the advert with any other form of payment

there's a couple of local businesses offering wheel refurbishment / powder coating cheap at the moment which is tempting but at least i can drive to the premises and check that out myself before any money exchanges hands

I've tried buying off facebook market place (I dont do facebook so it's a friends) but the half a dozen times I tried the items were knackered rubbish. Tripods with a broken leg, another nice one with the QR plate missing, the plate was really expensive. All I did was rack up miles and look at stuff that should have been on the local tip. Al claimed to be nearly new.
Not worth the bother if you ask me.
