ive seen on ebay lenses that im looking at for £200 less than in the shops.

compared to

--warehouse express

whats the deal with that?

ebay shop has well over 2000 positive feedbacks.

is it worth buying from ebay? wheres the complications?
i assume its just harder to return faulty goods in fact i shoulkd think there would be next to no after sales.

is this a risk worth taking though??

your thoughts... :)

Warranties are usually the issue with buying from Ebay as the majority like this are from Hong Kong. Nothing wrong with the companies themselves but companies like Sigma do not allow grey imports to protect their UK sales and distribution rights.

Having said that, the majority of Hong Kong companies nowadays ask you to identify the costs of repairs from reputable repair centres and have contacts int he UK where to get the repairs performed.

Be aware of Import Duties and VAT being added though to the item.....

sigma dont like grey imports, they are likely to not want to rush through a repair on it if you get a duff one...

Saying that though I've ordered two lenses and two flashes from onestop-digital.com and they've all been great - if you were to get a duff one then you'd just send it straight back. They reimburse for any duty/vat charges too.

Theres always kerso too who offers prices very similar to the ebay and hong kong prices but provides a UK invoice.

I have never bought a 'new' lens from ebay, but a couple of second hand ones which were excellent.

If you are worried about it, Kerso is the way to go as he is normally at least 5% cheaper than cheapest UK supplier and sometimes much more with a full warranty and UK invoice.
