Hello all.

I am a new member of the forum and this is my first post. I was wondering, has anyone ever been tempted by some of the bargains available when abroad, particularly the Canaries. I am looking at a replacement DSLR for my Canon E350D and I know I will be tempted but wondered if anyone has any experience of buying abroad, good or bad.

Hi Brian and welcome.

Probably best to ask that question in the Shopping, Suppliers and Bargains sub-forum and mention the name of the outfit you intend to buy from.

Plenty of us have bought from Hong Kong (One Stop Digital, for example) and will do so again.

i've bought a lens from one stop Digital, don't think i would a camera, my 7D has developed a fault after 5 months, it was very easy returning it to WEX don't think it would have been quiet as easy sending it back abroad

Do a google search for "canary islands camera shop scams" and then make up your own mind.

Do some reading on those camera shops in the Canaries.... and beware - many of them seem to be scams.
