Buying a new camera

Been looking at a new camera to upgrade from my fuji s602pro-have seen the new nikon d300-looks great as I am embarking on a pro career.

What do you guys think.

Is it really a pro spec digital camera?

well that does depend on what you're going to be shooting. it's most likely a great tool to have in the kit box but there is no one camera that would cover all my needs so how what you buy fits into the overall scheme should be considered too. :)

Well initally I will be mainly taking wedding and portrait and product shots.

I know what your saying. In an ideal world i would go for medium format for studio and something faster and more ergonomic for location and such.

But as im sure your aware. A decent camera lens flash studio flash backgrounds accesories and all basics to start a business is gonna set me back about 6k so its enough to get started with I hope.
