Hi

Can anyone point me in the direction where I can buy some good quality business cards please?

Thanks,

Thanks guys,

Marcel - is it the mini cards that everyone raves about?

Moo cards are cool, but a bit pricey for what they are plus I found the prints to be a bit dark and dull on the whole. I did raise this with them and they suggested upping the contrast and saturation and gave me some money off my next order, but the results still weren't as impressive as I'd have hoped.

I take it they are digitally printed, they should give you a profile that would solve the problem

I don't know anything about moo. And after searching their web site, I still don't know anything. I wouldn't buy from a company that doesn't disclose their trading address.

The best value, as well as personal assistance, will be found with a local digital printer.

Correct Blue, plus it keeps the local economy going

Come on Bloo, this isn't like you. Is old age slowing you down, or is it too many German beers?

MOO Print Ltd
6 Bakers Yard
Bakers Row
Clerkenwell
London

not at all. I saw that address. That's the Registered Office address of the Limited Company. NOT necessarily the trading address.

And why don't they do proper, grown-up, business cards? Those mini-cards are a lot dearer than what I pay my local digital printer for proper cards.

Kiddies gimmickry I'm afraid.

But why do they have to conform to a particular size? I find that theyre different, unique, and because theyre half height...they stand out as different. Not just *another* boring business card to slip in with the rest, and for the design and creative industry....different and quirky is better ;)

Now stop being a grumpy old b****r and embrace it :D

If you want to get a business card noticed, then why not make it to the weight of several amounts of bricks, and the size of a billboard.....????? :D

Tony

The Moo cards work on the opposite theory though - they're so dinky that people tend to put them into a purse or wallet straight away "so I don't lose it" rather than it going into a pocket and from there into the washing machine....!

I know what you mean. I have different cards for different purposes and occasions. Including a Pig shaped card - yup

But these moo cards are expensive. Cost more for less??

After a quick wander around the site I have to agree with Mr Blue

Vistaprint are good quality, and if you sign up for their emails they will bombard you with offers and some of them are pretty good the rest just go straight into junk.

www.aubergineprint.co.uk do full colour matt laminated cards 88mm x 55mm for a very reasonable price. I've had to supply them as PDFs with 3mm bleed in the past so if you're able to do that, it'd be worth taking a look.

Without looking at every single link, do any of them besides Moo do pre designed cards? I found that very useful indeed :)

Sorry to hijack this thread but, Does anyone know of any good one's in King's Lynn?

Need some for work

Aubergine don't as far as I know as they tend to deal with trade.

Well.... I have ordered with Moo thanks to Betty and Marcel - they look different, pretty funky and unique - pretty much how I want my photography to be represented.

I'll wait and see what they are like before I pass judgement... I am confident ***.

Which ones did you go for hun? Did you use a ready made design? :)

A chap on ebay did a batch for me before, they were very good but can't get back in touch with him. Last lot were vistaprint, cheap but the print quality was awful, the b+w images i have on the card all came out muddy imo, especially compared with the pristine prints the ebayer made. I haven't chosen a new supplier, but I know the local print shops cost more than either of those choices. Vistaprint are the cheap choice but for me the quality wasn't there.

I got myself a Flickr account a couple of weeks ago and paid for a years pro account which got me 10 free Moo cards.
I just randomly grabbed some of my shots for them as tbh, I wasnt too interested.
The cards came a few days ago & I have to say Im really impressed with the print quality, much better than my last Vistaprints, think Ill order me some more. :D
