Hi Guys,

I have a mountain of family of family photos to get scanned in and don't have the time to do it myslef. Can anybody recommend a scanning service that can do it on my behalf?

I assume you mean prints? Could be expensive?

Have you thought about just copying them with your camera? Set up a simple copy system on table top, frame up a print and then just whiz through them - if you shoot RAW they can be optimised later as and when needed, at least they will then be digitized for archiving.

You can buy auto scanners, so I would imagine finding a company who has one wouldn't be too hard. An automated system would be cheaper I would expect.
 
Hi Geoff, yes I mean scanning prints of old family photos. I hadn't thought about setting up my camera as I barely have enough time to process my own shots and we are talking hundreds of prints.

A quick google showed some companies I wondered if anyone had used them?
