Yes
I have recently bought 2 light stands with 2 umbrella brackets, 2 hot-shoe mounts and 2 shoot-through umbrellas for the sum of (roughly) £43. That's very, very cheap and basically the cheapest I could find.

If anyone is interested in pictures or exact URL's to what I've bought let me know and I'll try and help.

perhaps since you started this thread, a little review with some pictures and links would be a better way to go?

That's what I asked. I didn't wanna spend 30 minutes taking snaps and writing a review if no-one is interested.

well we have a review section, and someone somewhere will be interested..type quicker and it wont take so long. Also a 'suppliers, shopping and bargains' forum exists for links to...bargains..

everyone is interested in money saving post some images :)

£10.99 flash stands from 7dayshop - do the job well, come with neat little carrying cases.

$8 flash brackets from dealextreme - do the job ok again, though for recent nikon speedlights, get the 'single hotshoe' size one that's £6.50 with free shipping on ebay instead.

$6 white shoot through umbrellas from dealextreme - again, these do the job fine, whatever umbrella you buy, it'll blow over in the wind at some point and die, far rather have a £4 umbrella die than a £30 one.

looks quite good for the price,do you have a link where to buy it

just ordered some stands like that and a umbrella off ebay, got the bracket and silver umbrella for £13.99

I got a few shoots lined up this week so I'll post up the results at some point.

I think people were looking for links to the items you purchased as well as pictures of them...

Did you buy your stand from 7dayshop?

Yeah. I bought 4 of them.

I got that reflector last week, he emailed me a couple of days ago saying that he was looking into some reflector holders.

I'm waiting for my Pocket Wizards to arrive but at the moment I'm using the Cactus V4 trigger with 3x Cactus V4 receivers.

Quick Q...doesn't using v4's + stand/umbrella mounts put the flash above the ideal line for the umbrella?

Yup, it does really, but if your flash has a PC sync socket you can just buy PC sync cables and attach the flash directly to the coldshoe mount and hang the V4's off the side on a lanyard.... some of the V4's seem to come with the socket and others don't depending on the branding that's on them - my old V4's never and I had to buy a PC sync to hotshoe adaptor as well...

I hang them off the side. My V4's came with the cables needed to connect them to my 580EX II's.

Oh and just in case anyone is wondering... The bag that comes with the £10.99 light stand fits everything else in too. The umbrella, the flash bracket and several other bits like batteries, diffusers, flash gels and so on. I now have 3 little bundles which I can lob over my shoulder! :)

yeah I found the triggers increased the height when mounted on the lightstand and the flash ontop of that.

as mentioned above the V4's come with a socket (mine do) so yeah can mount them eitherway.

really I can't fit the brolly in mine :( bit I did get a massive calumet one that blows over a lot :D

I put the two of them in their own bags int he tripod holder of my bag which works a treat

I wouldn't mount the V4's on the lightstand and then the flash on top of that anyway... very unstable and asking for a flash lying in pieces on the floor...

Yep, there's no-way to 'tighten' the V4's to the stand so I always use the 580EX II's directly on the stand with the V4's hanging.

I have had a few shoots with these now, and although they do tend to blow over easily they are cheap and cheerful. The only reason they blew over was because of the umbrellas which is gunna happen on pretty much any stand unfortunately. When it got really bad I removed the umbrellas and they stayed up just fine.
