Budget laptop recommendation

I'm confused by the vast range on display.

Need 14/15 inch screen, light-ish, good battery life, quiet, run office apps (mainly a business laptop), some light photo/Web design work, play photo slideshow, etc. Figure I'd need to add an SSD (around 80.00).

Many seem to have the numeric keypad - which I don't 'need', and many of the 15 inchers I've seen in stores are heavy. Also, they all seem to have glossy (reflective) screens.

I've been thinking to buy Lenovo, but there appear to be a lot of comments saying the screen quality is so-so. Thinking of a budget under 300.00, plus the cost of the SSD.

Any suggestions?

Your budget is really the limiting factor. This limits the components in the laptop, the screen being one of them.

It really is a situation of you visiting the various outlets and having a look within you budget. All I can suggest is look at names you know such as HP and Compaq, and look at Summer Sale bargains

Just to be aware that HP & Compaq are the same "company"
