Beginner Budding photographer looking for first camera. HELP!

That's right - there isn't a bad camera out there in the current lineup.
I’d go further - there probably hasn’t been a real stinker in the last 10 years.
Going to buck the trend and not mention makes or models here. But start of by echoing the “get hands on” - visit a camera shop and actually get up close and personal with some different models - see what you think......
And then, even if you don’t buy new, just go for a camera that feels right and a couple of lenses for flexibility. Think of it as a starter kit - something to get you going. If you go second hand you will a. get more for your budget and b. not lose much if you trade after a year or so of getting some experience in and finding out in the real world what you need rather than trying to work stuff out from marketing and (often) Internet b*****ks.
Meaning this 100% constructively so please don’t take it the wrong way. Assuming you are a beginner as you’ve posted in the beginner area then getting some experience under your belt with ANY reasonable setup will impact your results much, much more than incremental differences in the kit you initially choose.
In short - don’t fret the details! :)

Some M43 cameras and some FF mirrorless had a shutter shock problem to varying degrees that couldn't always be eliminated.

Maybe it is worth looking at whether certain features appeal to you. I agree with the majority opinion that there isn't anything that is unfathomably bad, most people on the internet bash other brands to what they own but the reality is they all perform in the same ballpark of good, some are just better at specific things.

For what its worth, my judgement was guided more by certain features I wanted, mainly weather sealing and IBIS in that order, which narrowed down the choices for me. Camera decision is a great website that helps you filter by feature, it was very useful during my search.

Something like this A6400 with 18-135 would suit.
Don't be scared of buying a recent used camera to get more for your money.
You are probably buying into a system you may stick with for years it isn't an easy choice but they are all good now.

Yup. This really affected me and made me so angry with in my case Panasonic. Using the electronic shutter was a solution in some lighting but that could give banding under flickering artificial lighting and thus in some situations such as in door social shooting a shutter shock affected camera and lens combination could be useless as I'd be in the affected shutter speed range with the mechanical shutter and unable to use the electronic shutter due to the possibility of banding. Shutter shock with Panasonic was/is just a hateful thing.

I'd love to go and get my hands on some of the cameras I've been looking to maybe get. But I'm not sure if there are any second hand places near me (Bexhill-on-Sea) to go and have a look. Currys have Canon M50 MkII's there but apart from that they only have the most basic DSLRs and bridge cameras. Not sure if anyone has any suggestions of anywhere that would have something I could physically handle in the area?
