Buddha statue picture

Yesterday I took some photos of my buddha statue. When I put the photos on the computer I noticed little white and red spots (really tiny) at several places on the photo.

I shoot RAW (fyi) and I don't have clue where these come from. Does anyone know what they are?



They can best be seen on the photo in original size. Should it be impossible to see this size, please let me know, I will then put the photo itself in this thread.

Obviously the photo on Flickr is in the jpg format, but the spots remain the same. No other editing has been done.

Any help is very much appreciated.
 
Are the spots in the same place on each photo?
Looks like bad pixels to me. sensor problem?
Does it happen with other memory cards?
 
You have posted in the wrong place for this question so i'll move the thread to the equipment section.

They look like hot (or stuck) pixels to me. The sort of thing you can only see on a black background at full magnification. All cameras do it but most don't see them unless they go looking for them. I'm fairly sure Olympus cameras have a built in routine to map out (cancel) hot pixels. have a look in the manual.
 
Thanks for moving it. I hadn't realised it was in the wrong forum.
I have read something about hot pixels and will look into that.
