BT are one big scam anyway lol. £120 to throw a switch to get the phone on in my house. Hmmmm.

Yes. They are getting quite convincing. I got one purporting to be from Tiscali this week which looked fairly genuine. I knew it wasnt and forwarded it to Tiscali's fraud dept.

When somebody phones you, you cannot cut them off, the scammer simply put the guy in hold for a while then disconnected and phoned back.

and the moral of the story is that a demand for payment should be made on paper not over the phone, good idea to remind them that, or the obvious one is to keep track of your payments and if you;ve paid your bills then alarm bells should start ringing when they start claiming you owe them money!
