There were a couple of grumbles recently about not giving information on how to do things, so I suggest a new game in which we can really learn how to use brushes in PS/Elements/Gimp etc. I only use PS but looked at the other two and they seem to have brush editing options as well.
To change the brush options (in PS) have a brush selected then you click on the little paint pot (1), and an option box comes up, then you can, for instance, change the shape of the brush from round to oval (2), change the space between the brush "dots" (3), change lots of other things (4)
This shows just a few of the things that are possible from the first round soft brush in the PS brush options at 50 pixel size
My challenge is this - produce a flower/floral picture using just the one round brush but experimenting with it.
If enough people are interested and take part we can continue it as we do with the editing game. If you have any questions please ask - probably won't have the answers but someone usually does
Just to prove it can be done - this was produced using just one brush - reshaped, resized, with noise, without noise , dual brush, airbrush etc and different colours (and layers)
