I'm of to the Lake District for a week next month with my dogs and camera and was wondering if anyone has any pointers where to go for wonderful locations for taking photographs? Preferably within an hours drive!

A friend of mine grew up there and we visited a good few years ago. I can recommend the excellently named Black Cock Inn, but for photo opportunities, there is a stone circle (Swinside) that is well worth going in search of. It's in a farmer's field and we were the only ones around when we visited. Hopefully it's still accessible...

Other than that, you are in Cumbria; the whole Lake District is within an hour's drive!

If you are planning to walk a bit, then you are spoilt for choice in that corner of the Lakes.
But if you are tied to your car then for landscapes, just about anywhere between Ulpha and the head of the Seathwaite valley - so many possibilities in one of the last unspoillt corners of the Lakes.
Wasdale is in range too; properly spectacular.
If you want a non-walking day that doesn't involve the car too heavily, then I'd suggest the Ratty. Grab an outside seat and snap away; can't miss!
