Yes
One of our hens (a light Sussex) has gone broody.

By that I mean rather than doing her normal thing (pottering around and laying eggs) she's decided to take up residence in the area where they lay.

She's sitting on eggs or after all the eggs have been removed she's just sitting as if she's incubating. She's been at it for days now and she's not letting the others come near.

We don't have a Cock so obviously nothing will happen as the eggs are just eating eggs rather than fertile eggs.

Having failed to 'break her' (forcing her out of the habit) I'm toying with the idea of getting some fertile eggs to let her sit on but the outcome will be chicks but then we'll have to find somebody that wants the chicks.

There's also the issue of chicks being Cocks which isn't a good thing.

Anybody else been through this ??
