Broncolor 1200 Move L... where to hire from?

Yes
I usually hire Profoto's 7B2 pack and a couple of Pro7 heads every few weeks or so for location work, however this week I have a B4 pack as no 7B2 packs are available from Calumet although about £20 more expensive for the day (which is a first for me, they've always had them available). Anyway, it got me thinking if anyone hires Broncolor's equivalent. Note that I'm in north Bucks

Has anyone used Broncolors Move L even , that can speak from experience vs Profoto's B4? From what I've heard, the Broncolor comes out on top.

I have the annoying requirement for very fast recycle and short flash duration... at half power the B4 can keep up with CL (3fps) shooting, the 7B2 is about a stop down on the subsequent frames.

Have a look at Lencarta's new IGBT controlled SuperFast heads. I'm not sure there's anything to touch them - at any price - for fast durations, fast recycle, at usable power levels, and with excellent colour.

There's a review in the next edition of Advanced Photographer magazine, published 6th June.

Not used them but the Pro Centre emailed me the other day to say they have Move for rent. Just checked and the pack is £24/day.

Last time I asked, delivery outside M25 was a little spendy though.

As fine a light as the "SuperFast" may be (and really, I've no idea) they aren't a location system.

Thanks guys that's interesting, I'll look into that further

£24/d is damn good! I'm paying twice that for the B4 pack.

Edit:
Yes, has to be battery sorry

Excellent find:thumbs:

Karl Taylor is usually quite good  Don't know how he gets by with a studio full of all that amateur junk :D

But wasn't that test all about flash durations? Useless on that score.

Well yes, I've seen more objective tests... He has his shortcomings, but at least he agrees with you about the use of flash meters - I knew that someone out there would:)

LOL To be fair, for his fashion shoot, he probably won't go near pushing the fastest flash durations, but dropping a tennis ball from two feet?

A certain friend of mine had one of those Bron Moves last week, very briefly, (see what I did there?) same time as I had the SuperFasts. Unfortunately, logistics got in the way and I couldn't do more than look at it, let alone test it... :(

Well I got on a treat with the B4, but at that price you would hope it was good wouldn't you!

I did see that YouTube review/comparison but just though it a bit too contrived to demonstrate the 'top trumps' of the Broni really. However, I will use the Broni on one of my location shoots soon I think as it does look great and is about half the price of the Profoto so might even be an option to buy even

My copy of the magazine has arrived, the review confirms everything we've been saying about the new SuperFasts.

Although not designed to be portable - they are mains powered - they can of course be used with power packs.

All competitors - eat your hearts out:)

That was going to be my question. Will packs like the Innovatronix work with these?

Also will there be a safari style option coming along?

Interesting that a very specific question about one brand of flash turned into an advert for another...... Especially as the question was about a location system.

That'll be my fault :(

The OP's requirement was also for very fast durations and recycle, which narrows the list to only a few products. I thought the Lencartas might be of interest to him, and to other readers too.

LOL, no problem guys, it is at least related.

However, if anyone gains experience of the Broni Move before I get the opportunity I'd appreciate your thoughts.

ProCenter is owned by the same company as Broncolor now, so I would guess they would hire them out for you, but I know they also rent the PF's

oooh yes, they HAVE just started renting them! Only had the mobil until recently.
