Yes
Last week, i was trying to set my tripod up indoors to try some lighting ideas, and one of the legs wasnt locked and the tripod slip out of my hand, allowing the camera to gracefully crash to the full.
I picked it up and hoped it was just the hood smashed but unfortunately, the lens now doesn't rotate or focus. The camera still fires fine but my lens is dead. Anyway after spending the last two weeks being anger with myself I have come to terms with my loss and moving on to pastures new.
Problem is I have only been doing this a year and still have alot to learn.

I don't want to replace it with the same lens, feels like a waste of money, and as I have just been made redundant I don't have loads of cash either.

I would really like an Nikon 18-200mm VRII but dont have the cash for a while.

Looking around i think i want a Nikon AF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED DX for about £150 (seen). That way i get more telephoto without losing what i had before.
I really like a walkabout lens, for when I am out with the kids, and want to get into portraits. I read the between 85 and 100 is the best focal length for portraits.

I was going to complement this with either a Nikon 55-200mm VR (hence the 18-200 Nikon) or a Sigma 70-300mm. but these can wait a while.

Any other recommendations or just some reassurance that i have made the right choice really?
