anyone know how to bring the colour back to a b/w raw file.

i have a sigma dp2m and converted the file to tiff - i did it before but can't remember how (it may have been with another camera).

thanks.

A RAW file is simply a record of what was on the sensor at a particular moment when you pressed the shutter.

Usually a RAW file cannot be altered - if you apply a particular effect in a camera the settings are usually re-applied in your editing program or viewer.

Normally the camera makers will supply the software for their camera which includes a RAW editor, so use this program to reset the settings to normal and the colours should still be there.

The colour is lost forever in the tiff file but you should just need to open the RAW file again in your editor of choice and reset the sliders to bring the colour back and resave as a coloured TIFF

thanks.

using the sigma photo pro software.

found it - i just needed to click the B/W button and it saved the tiff file in colour.
