I'm visiting the area this weekend for my husband's grandmother's 80th birthday - I'd love to sneak in some non-family photos if I can, but I don't know the area at all. Are there any landmarks, beautiful vistas, interesting statues that I can point my lens at?

loads of good locations, castell coch, Ogmore / sutherndown beach, Cardiff Bay, take a short trip to brecon beacons, Ystradfellte waterfalls, kenfig pools, St Fagins centre of Welsh history( but no tripod).
